Launch of the Bhutan National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) System and the sensitization on the Integrated Land Use and Spatial Planning Framework for the 10X National Economic Roadmap

The Prime Minister attended the launch of the Bhutan National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) System and the sensitization on the Integrated Land Use and Spatial Planning Framework for the 10X National Economic Roadmap today. To enable the successful achievement of this vision and the 13th Five Year Plan, the Royal Government of Bhutan unveiled the National Framework for Inter Agency Coordination on Integrated Land Use and Spatial Planning, coinciding with the NSDI launch. The Framework aims to optimize the nation’s limited land resources, harmonize sectoral development plans, eliminate land use conflicts and enable real time, data driven spatial planning. Supported by a robust governance structure, digital planning tools and cross sectoral collaboration among over 30 agencies, these initiatives will drive sustainable, coordinated development across key sectors including hydropower, agriculture, tourism, wellness, human settlements, climate adaptation and AI ready data centers.
